Situated in a popular Bay of Plenty golfing range complex, the owners of this Pro Golf store knew their shop security needed to be strong, reliable and unobtrusive to fit in with their surroundings. With opening hours that differ to the golf range hours, it was important that the store interior was not visible when they shut for the day. However, they also stipulated that any security barrier had to be tasteful and not 'prison-like'.
With help from HomePlus Tauranga they chose a hard-wearing Knightguard Intercept Rollershutter with strong interlocking aluminium slats. When lowered the rollershutter profile has a neat, solid finish which rolls away into a matching head box when not needed. Dulux powder coat colour Titania was chosen to match the display units in the shop for a neat and tidy finish.
Just weeks after the initial installation, an attempted break-in was foiled by the Intercept Rollershutters. Using an enormous pot plant, the burglars broke through the glass entrance doors, but couldn’t break through the rollershutter installed behind the doors. Thus, the burglars left empty-handed and the store owners were relieved that their stock was untouched.
Other security measures have been introduced since then, including the addition of triple point locks in all doors, grilles installed over skylights and an additional Intercept Rollershutter for another potential entry point.
