Don Roy of Cymon Allfrey Architects was awarded the prize, an all-expenses trip for four, this month. The competition was open to all members of ADNZ (Architectural Designers of New Zealand).
"We wanted to reward members of this group who have been excellent supporters of Palliside over the years," says Palliside’s Richard McGechie. "Architectural designers recognise Palliside as the ideal low maintenance weatherboard as it never needs painting." As a result homeowners are able to put the money saved towards other things such as overseas holidays and family activities.”
Don says he considers Palliside’s strengths to be its aesthetics and simplicity. "It’s a system that is simple to install and maintain, so beneficial for both the specifier and the homeowner," he says. "There’s plenty of good literature online about it, and it has a 25-year warranty which is far more than you can expect from weatherboards."
Though it is versatile in its use, he considers Palliside Weatherboards ideal for multi-unit developments.
Don was excited about the news of his win and will soon start holiday planning.
