Curved Glass Balustrades Enhance Noosa Home

Bringing natural light into a home can be challenging. One solution is to incorporate glass balustrades, which can also provide a crisp, contemporary design element.

For this luxury home in Noosa, the designer specified TemperShield curved toughened glass from Glasshape for the balustrades on a sweeping curved staircase and upper-level landing.

Ultra-clear low-iron glass further enhances the sense of space by removing the green tinge associated with standard glass, allowing the balustrade to blend in with the highly contemporary interior design.

The project was completed quickly and accurately, thanks to Glasshape’s digital measure and CAD service. This also allowed 3-D visualisations to be presented to the clients to ensure the design would meet their expectations.

The Noosa project was so successful, installer Safa Glass Brisbane won the Glass and Aluminium Association of Queensland (GAAQ) 2013 award for Best Use of Glass and Glazing — Residential.

Glasshape can manufacture TemperShield curved toughened glass in extra-large sizes. It can measure up to 3.9m high by 2.44m wide, which is the largest dimension available in Australasia.
