The new Laminam cladding system addresses two of the biggest issues faced by the construction industry in recent times — leaky buildings, and earthquake resilience. The high performance cladding system combines a durable panel that won't rot, fade or scratch with a weathertight, lightweight cavity system.
The Laminam porcelain panels each measure 3000 x 1000mm, and are available in more than 80 colours and finishes, including solid colours, patterns, wood-grains, stone, gloss and metallic finishes. Twenty-four of these colours are held in stock in New Zealand — the rest can be imported to order from Italy.
Key product features and benefits:
- Laminam panels have all the strength and durability of a fully body porcelain tile and they have very low water absorption and will not fade in UV light.
- The total system (Laminam panel + aluminium frame and rails) is extremely lightweight; just 13kg/m2. This makes it easier to transport and install.
- Suitable for seismic areas, the lightweight system creates less momentum in a seismic event than traditional facades. This system has been tested with up to +/- 80mm of inter-storey movement, without loss of weathering performance.
- The Laminam panels are easy to clean, and do not require sealing or expensive ongoing maintenance. Over the building lifecycle, Laminam panels are a cost effective solution.
- The Laminam panels are virtually graffiti proof, and come with a 15 year warranty provided by Laminex New Zealand.
