This 6,000 m² multipurpose facility has already been snatched up by event organisers to host the New Zealand Fashion Week, the Auckland International Boat Show and a number of Rugby World Cup events. With the ability to hold up to 3,600 guests at any one time, the Centre meets exhibition, conference and hospitality requirements.

The external public viewing deck, accessible by boardwalk, further enhances participation of events within the premises whilst offering breathtaking views of the Waitemata Harbour.

ASSA ABLOY worked closely with Besam, producing a complete door hardware schedule for Moller Architects that accommodated the Marine Event Centre’s security needs.

With large numbers of people entering and exiting the building, quality commercial door hardware was a necessity. A Besam revolving door lends panache to the already impressive aesthetics whilst being instrumental to the buildings indoor outdoor flow.

Catering for continuous, high volume pedestrian traffic, the revolving door and ‘Unislide’ 1 and 2 Automatic Sliding Door Controllers are an ideal solution for the Centre’s entrance doors.

Security has been achieved using Lockwood 3570 Mortice Locks and 2516 Cam Action Closers. With radius ends, the 212/213 Series Artefact Door Furniture fitted to the 3570 locks were a complement to the curvaceous styling of the building. Lockwood Electric Mortice Locks and Trimec V-Locks were also fitted for convenient electromechanical locking and unlocking.
