Asona’s Snaptex Leaves a Lasting Impression

For the new Auckland Airport extension - Pier B, architects Warren and Mahoney selected Asona’s Snaptex acoustic stretched fabric wall system to display the outstanding scenic images of one of New Zealand’s finest photographers, Peter Latham, down the departure walkways, leaving visitors with an indelible last image of New Zealand before they board their flights.

The wall panel images, some measuring up to 18m and 27m in length, were first digitally printed onto two fabric strips and stitched together by Auckland printers, Colourworx. The completed images were then stretched over Asona’s unique stretched fabric wall system with an acoustic absorber behind to help control the reverberation of passenger footfall.

Asona’s Snaptex stretched fabric acoustic wall system has unsurpassed design possibilities with a history of proven performance and remains the first choice of top designers and architectural professionals.

Asona’s Snaptex is ideal for any environment where noise and sound need to be managed. It is constructed on-site, which means that Asona's fully trained installers can adapt to any constructional irregularities in the interior space and avoid types of problems that can occur with typical pre-manufactured wall and ceiling panels such as poor fit, or uneven wall surfaces and limitations on shapes and sizes. Snaptex uses a unique hinge and lock jaw system that provides better tension than friction-fit and allows for easy replacement of fabric which sustainably extends the life of the system.
