ARDEX offers a range of internal liquid and sheet waterproofing solutions for wet areas such as kitchens, bathrooms and laundries that comply with NZBC E3 Internal Moisture.

ARDEX undertile liquid systems

ARDEX undertile liquid systems provide complete protection for any wet area application and have been developed for high-performance undertile waterproofing. The systems include ARDEX WPM 001, ARDEX WPM 002 and ARDEX WPM 155. The particular product used will depend on the location, substrate and scope of the project.

ARDEX undertile sheet system

ARDEX WeldTec WPM 750 is an internal undertile waterproofing membrane designed for wet area applications that is heat-welded at laps and seams creating a superior bond and fast installation. ARDEX WeldTec WPM 750 has excellent flexibility and resistance to tearing, cracking, bubbling and absorption. It is made in New Zealand with proven performance, supported by a BRANZ appraisal and the well-recognised ARDEX trained installer warranty.

ARDEX WeldTec WPM 750 is specified with a full range of accessories to guarantee performance. The system can be used in residential and commercial applications for internal wet areas such as kitchens, bathrooms and laundries. ARDEX has also worked with a number of flooring suppliers to develop alternative solutions in order to meet the requirements of NZBC E3.

An effective under-tile waterproofing solution for Regal Palms Resort

ARDEX WPM 750 was used for wet areas at Regal Palms Resort — a 5-start hotel in Rotorua. The ARDEX WeldTec undertile sheet membrane was applied to the walls and floors of the resort's luxury bathrooms, providing peace of mind for the resort owners. Marra Construction and Arid Technologies completed the project which includes 70 suites designed to optimise relaxation and comfort.

ARDEX X18 is a superior white polymer fortified cement-based wall and floor tile adhesive that has been specially formulated with mastic type properties.

For commercial and residential internal/external wet areas, balconies, decks and other areas that will be tiled or otherwise protected from regular foot traffic. Not suitable for permanent immersed conditions. For conditions of permanent immersion, it is recommended that ARDEX WPM 002 (Superflex Two Part) is used. ARDEX Undertile Sheet Membrane (WPM 750 and WPM 1000) has been appraised for use as a waterproofing membrane for the internal wet areas of buildings, within the following scope:

On floor substrates of concrete, plywood, compressed fibre cement sheet and fibre cement sheet tile underlay, and on wall substrates of concrete, concrete masonry, wet area fibre cement sheet lining systems and wet area plasterboard lining systems; and,
When protected from physical damage by ceramic or stone tile finishes; and,
Where floors are designed and constructed such that deflections do not exceed 1/360th of the span. 2.2

ARDEX WPM 750, provided it is used, installed and maintained in accordance with the statements and conditions of the ARDEX WPM 750 Datasheet, will meet the following conditions of the NZBC:

Clause B2 Durability: Performance B2.3.1 (b) 15 years
Clause E3 Internal Moisture: Performance E.3.3.6
Clause F2 Hazardous Building Materials: Performance F2.3.1

ARDEX WPM 155 Rapid is a water-based, polyurethane-acrylic waterproofing membrane developed for high-performance under-tile waterproofing.

ARDEX under tile liquid membranes have been appraised for use as waterproofing membranes for the internal wet areas of buildings, within the following scope:
