What is Corian?

Corian Solid Surface is non-porous surface comprised of an advanced blend of two-thirds natural minerals and one-third acrylic resin allowing it to be thermoformed, shaped or routed. The New Zealand stocked range has been curated from the global colour offering, taking into account the unique New Zealand aesthetic for both commercial and residential applications.

Corian as a low maintenance solution

When Corian looks clean, it really is clean.

Corian is an excellent low maintenance solution for many reasons: it is non-porous, joins are inconspicuous, it is hard wearing and repairable. Let’s extrapolate that a bit:

• Non-porous: Liquids, dust and dirt can’t penetrate the smooth surface, making Corian an extremely hygienic choice and easy to clean.
• Inconspicuous joins: Joins between pieces of Corian and integrated sinks and basins are inconspicuous, making it look beautiful, but more importantly, no join lines means dirt and grime can’t accumulate.
• Hard wearing: Corian is very durable and is designed to stay looking great for many years once fabricated, without the need of annual sealing.
• Repairable: Chips, cracks and gouges can generally be repaired on site by an Authorised Corian Fabricator. It is worth requesting off cuts to be fabricated into chopping boards in the unlikely event a matching piece of Corian is required to repair your surface.

Maintaining Corian

Regular maintenance is quick and easy — marks and stains stay on the surface and can easily be removed with a soft cloth and Ajax™ Spray'n'Wipe™. Tougher stains respond well to Jif™ Cream Cleanser and a soft cloth.

Corian sinks and basins

Specifying an integrated Corian sink or basin to go with your Corian surface not only gives the space a sleek, designer look, but it also has a huge practical advantage. When a Corian sink or basin is fabricated into a Corian surface, the joins are inconspicuous leaving no lip or groove where the two components meet. The completely smooth transition from horizontal to vertical means no dirt, grime or mould accumulates leaving your surface looking clean and beautiful.
