Alsynite: Keeping Up with Fire Rated Translucent Products

Fibreglass and polycarbonate, two products commonly used in roofing and cladding of commercial, industrial and residential dwellings, are now supplied as bromine-free, fire-retardant and smoke-reduced natural lighting systems.

Alsynite has streamlined its Topglass fire retardant (FR) range for ease of understanding when dealing with building code requirements related to meeting surface lining criteria in commercial and industrial buildings.

Premium Grade Topglass Gel-Coat (GC)

Topglass/Topclad GC FR50 is BRANZ tested to ISO 5660 utilising cone calorimeter testing, and the full scale ISO 9705 room test, achieving an NZBC Group 3 classification.
Topglass/Topclad GC FR60 is BRANZ tested to ISO 5660 utilising cone calorimeter testing and achieves an NZBC Group 2 classification.

Industrial and Residential Polycarbonate Products

All Laserlite polycarbonate translucent roofing products have passed the BRANZ ISO 9705 room test, achieving a Group 1-S classification in the NZBC.

Topglass translucent roofing has been specifically developed to combat the effect of ultraviolet rays and atmospheric pollutants, without the yellowing and rapid product degradation associated with commonly available glass-reinforced roof sheeting.

Topglass can be used in a number of applications, including commercial, industrial, schools and kindergartens and public outdoor areas requiring excellent UV protection, and institutional and other projects where long-term high quality lighting is required.
