Allco’s School Tanking and Roofing Solutions Backed With Quality Assurance Checks

In 2014 Allco worked with Robert Cunningham Construction on a gymnasium building project at St Mary’s College, St Mary Bay. The architects, RCG, specified a range of Allco’s products. Sanjev Rejendra of RCG said, "I think your company has taken a remarkable step having a Quality Assurance Officer doing consistent and regular checks — this gives us architects peace of mind and confidence in your products."

The project required a Volclay tanking system to be applied to the footings and precast panel retaining walls, lift pit and storage areas, while Casali Dermabit Extra Double Layer Torch-On was applied to the plaza deck, roof and gutter. Allco provided a detailed design and specification for the transition between the tanking and plaza deck, where floating tiles were installed over the double layer torch-on membrane. The applicator used was MPM Waterproofing Services Ltd, who applied Volclay (800m²) and Casali (500m²) with 10 quality assurance visits during the waterproofing process.

Over the last 15 years Allco Waterproofing Solutions have provided tanking and roofing solutions to over 100 major school projects nationwide. On these projects Allco have provided their onsite Quality Assurance Inspection Programme — this includes pre-installation meeting and on-site inspections prior to concrete pour. Every inspection is documented with photographs taken, and this quality assurance information is retained on Allco’s server and is available to the client, construction company and the waterproofing applicator. One of the benefits is that it provides peace of mind for all parties involved, including one of the most transparent warranty certificates available in the building industry.

Allco are able to provide a range of products catering to the needs of the education sector including primary, intermediate, colleges and universities. Allco are currently working on the Waikato University project, installing a 2,500m² single layer TPO membrane green roof.
