The new Mercedes-Benz showroom on Auckland’s North Shore is the first of its kind in New Zealand, built in the brand’s new, ultramodern design directive known as MAR2020.
"With MAR2020, Mercedes-Benz is defining a new brand appearance at the retail level, helping the business to keep pace with the digital revolution and changing customer behaviour," says Lance Bennett, General Manager of Mercedes-Benz New Zealand.
A ground floor of over 2500m² incorporates a 10-vehicle showroom and an 18-hoist service centre. In the middle of the building, a stunning glass vehicle elevator rises to an open mezzanine which houses New Zealand’s largest AMG Performance Centre.
At the entranceways, black anodised Shuttle entrance matting protects the building interior, staff and customers by trapping dirt and moisture and keeping it away from the pristine showroom floors. The aluminium used in Advance Shuttle entrance matting systems is cast from recycled metal in Whanganui using highly energy-efficient processes, and is newly Global GreenTag certified.
The exacting brief for MAR2020 is to provide the ‘best customer experience’. Shuttle’s modular construction of square polyamide inserts set into the sleek anodised frame matches the building’s sophisticated design while offering superior four-way dirt-cleaning capability.
Shuttle’s unique patented design and grid construction makes it an ideal performer in automotive showrooms, able to handle rolling loads with ease. While vehicle tyres can track large amounts of dirt and water, Shuttle’s highly absorbent inserts easily wick this away, preventing unnecessary wear and potential slip hazards, as well as maintaining cleanliness.
This is particularly important where people may be wearing high heels or dress shoes with insufficient grip over hard showroom flooring, which could present a higher risk of slips and falls. Shuttle entrance matting helps ensure the safety of Mercedes-Benz’s valued customers and staff, and complements the image of one of the world’s most distinctive brands.
