For their Newmarket office refurbishment, Realestate.co.nz wanted a light and open interior with engaging references to their industry. The property listing specialists celebrate residential, rural, commercial and industrial building types through playful reconstructions of a barn, a cool store, and the suburban gable silhouette.
The semi-industrial shell creates a bit of surprise and fun. The boardroom is a mini barn. Another meeting room is made of solid pine and plywood framing, lined with translucent polycarbonate, and fitted with a striking blue carpet to reinforce the space.
In the office areas, Advance Flooring Systems' highly durable nylon carpet has been laid. The dark grey Spacewalk carpet plank has a strong linear pattern, which draws the eye down the length of the office and contrasts with the white walls and ceilings. Exposed concrete, blonded plywood, and high-bay lights complete the design to create a clean, semi-industrial, semi-corporate setting.
Amidst the stylish greys and whites, the blue accent from Realestate.co.nz's branding is picked up via blue beanbags, a large wall mural, and a pop of colour with Advance's aqua blue Colour Spring nylon carpet.
Created on a tight budget, the fit-out is a clever solution for a growing company. Complete with modular elements, flexibility, character and colour, it expresses the team's desire to celebrate what they do and to bring ideas to life.
