Acoustic Ceiling + Wall Solutions for the Auckland Art Gallery

To control unwanted noise reverberation in Auckland’s new art gallery entrance atrium, FJMT + Archimedia Architects selected Asona’s Fabwall and Snaptex acoustic wall panels and Danoline Designpanel M2F micro perforated plasterboard ceiling lining.

This was a challenging brief that required a bespoke solution. Within the stone wall slots, custom Fabwall panels and upholstered speaker units were manufactured and wrapped in a special knit fabric to provide a uniform acoustic finish.

The rear wall including concealed service doors are treated with high density Triton 40 absorber panels and covered with a stretched Knoll Annex W1360/4 fabric using Asona’s hinged Snaptex framing system.

Asona provided a 'supply and install' package and South Auckland Fibrous Plaster installed the Asona Designpanel M2F perforated plasterboard ceilings.
