As Jiani Wu points out in the latest BERL Forecast, there is plenty of activity.
Residential building consent numbers for the year to January 2009 (totaling 17,525) were over 30% below those of the previous year. In contrast, the number of non-residential consents issued was down by 0.4%, but up 7% in value terms.
Looking ahead, the outlook for the non-residential building sector remains positive. Although, it would be correct to say that we are becoming more than a bit impatient with the much-promised boost to infrastructure investment.
