December's Building Consents were released on Friday, with residential consents down 19% and non-residential up 16% on December 07 figures. Non residential increase highlights the growth in education, office buildings and farm development. There are also some interesting figures from the Reserve Bank on Housing Loan Approvals, which show some consistent trends.

February's issue will be a cracker, featuring the 'Best of 2008'. That's right, we are looking back over the last year's 12 issues and will publish the eboss specifier's choice for 2008. We will also rerun our Architect Confidence Survey, to gauge the changes in sentiment and market conditions faced by architects, since the previous survey in October.
