ROCKCOTE Clay Plaster Decor is a fine finishing clay plaster with built-in marble dust that glistens in the presence of ambient light. An earthen-look plaster with a smooth finish, Clay Plaster Decor adds a textural warmth to the interior of any building — from a traditional straw bale home to the most elegant modern building.

An ideal plaster finish for full interiors and a natural alternative to painted walls. It is also suitable for ceilings.

Unique effects to suit the project can be created by adding objects during application such as marble or quartz chips; shells; and clean, dry wheat or hemp. While Clay Plaster Decor is most commonly used for smooth and rustic finishes, it is possible to achieve handcrafted bespoke shapes with a geometric, textured appearance or smooth, gentle contours.

This natural clay plaster is non-toxic and free from Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) making it ideal for people who care about the health of their families and the occupants of offices and residential buildings.

Designed as the dominant coloured finishing coating for use over prepared substrates
Requires the addition of clean water and mixing before application and is suitable for traditional hawk and trowel application
Can be applied successfully, in single coats as low as 2mm, and up to 6mm
Recommended for Internal surfaces

Limitations on Use

Not suitable for use in splashback areas, or where subject to continuous moisture
Can be used on sheltered areas for external use, providing it is protected from rain until desired finish coats are applied, or over-coated with acrylic clear sealer when finish coats are not required.

Maintenance:

Occasional light dusting with a soft dry cloth
No further cleaning should be required
Do not use abrasive cleaners
Do not wet the surface as this will soften the clay plaster
If the wall gets wet, simply leave it to dry out

A coat of Resene waterborne Aquapel can be applied to the finished surface for added protection. This will penetrate the surface and provide water/liquid repellent properties. Try a small test area to determine if any colour variance occurs.
