Lightweight, strong, and sustainable; Red Stag bespoke Cross Laminated timber (CLT) beams are a low-carbon, cost-effective alternative to steel for structural solutions. Perfect for projects with high sustainability standards such as The Living Building Challenge.
Red Stag CLT can be treated to H1.2 for interior use, such as where visual grade CLT is exposed indoors; and H3.2 for use where there is moderate risk of moisture and UV.
Although there are currently no specific NZ standards for the production and utilisation of CLT, the product shares many similarities with Glulam as it is created from dried timber that is finger-jointed and laminated together using pressure and adhesive.
The design of the timber shall be in accordance with the regulations as advised by the consultants and the following New Zealand Standards:
Red Stag TimberLab has the largest CLT manufacturing plant in the southern hemisphere.
CLT beams have been installed in many residential, commercial, and community buildings like schools and townhouses throughout NZ and Australia.
Red Stag TimberLab is New Zealand’s leading one-stop-solution engineered timber supplier operating from two plants in Auckland and Rotorua.
