Perfect for projects with high sustainability standards such as Green Star and Living Building Challenge.

An ideal feature element to highlight the natural warmth and aesthetic beauty of timber.

  • Red Stag CLT components are 3D modelled and manufactured to millimetre accuracy and delivered to site as a kit set; minimising mistakes, and ensuring ease of installation on site.
  • Fire resistance level (FRL) met, tested in accordance with AS 1530.4:2014 and AS 4072.1:2005

Scope of Use
  • Red Stag CLT stairs are suitable for residential, commercial, industrial, hybrid, and multi-storey construction.
  • Tested to FRR 60/60/60 unencapsulated — higher ratings can be achieved with specific design.
  • Timber Char factors make CLT ideal for internal emergency egress applications.
  • Depending on span, stairs can be designed without secondary support.
Limitations on Use

Red Stag CLT Stairs are made from Pinus Radiata, which is a soft wood species. It is strongly recommended that at the very least the treads are overlayed with a durable floor covering.

Design and installation must be done in accordance with the latest Red Stag Design Guide.

Statement of Building Code Compliance

Although there are currently no specific NZ standards for the production and utilisation of CLT, the product shares many similarities with Glulam as it is created from dried timber that is finger-jointed and laminated together using pressure and adhesive.

The design of the timber shall be in accordance with the regulations as advised by the consultants and the following New Zealand Standards:

  • NZS 3603 — Timber Structures Code
  • AS 5068 — Finger Jointed Timber Code
  • NZS 3631 — New Zealand National Timber Grading Code
  • ASNZS 1328.1 — The Manufacture of Glue Laminated Timber
