Description

Tekton Wall Underlay is a synthetic breather-type layer for use as a wall underlay and air barrier under direct and non-direct fixed wall cladding on timber and steel framed buildings.

Scope of Use

Tekton Wall Underlay can be used in all wind zones up to and including Very High, and with RAB Systems, Extra High
Tekton Wall Underlay is fire retardant with a zero flammability index and can be used without restriction on all buildings, however must be separated from fireplaces, heating appliances, flues and chimneys in accordance with the NZBC.
Tekton Wall Underlay can be left exposed for up 60 days

Limitations on Use

Tekton Flexible Wall Underlay is a key component of the complete 'Marshall Weatherization System' which is designed for complete (Secondary) building envelope weathertight protection. Tekton is designed for use with Marshall Innovations' 'Super-Stick' flexible flashing tape (for Window/ Door openings), 'Trade-seals' (for service pentrations), 'Seam Tape' (for wrap joins) + HYDRA (Roof Underlay).

In-Service History

Tekton has been available for use in New Zealand since early 2000s, and has been used in a large variety of projects, including single and mulit-unit residential, townhouses and apartments, healthcare and aged care facilities, and commercial buildings.
