Description

The Knauf Insulation wall batt range includes a selection of R-values to provide builders, designers, installers the opportunity to choose the best thermal performance for their project. Knauf Insulation wall batts will improve the thermal comfort and energy efficiency of the building in which it has been installed thus keeping it cool in summer and warm in winter.

The super-soft and easy to handle benefits of Knauf Insulation glasswool have been further enhanced with TwinTech®. TwinTech® heralds another advancement in insulation manufacture — the dual forming technique ensures there is a smooth finish on both sides of the insulation, which improves product handling and appearance. Knauf Insulation glasswool insulation wall batt is made using up to 80% recycled glass and with ECOSE® Technology, a sustainable, plant-based binder that contains no added formaldehyde.

Enhanced moisture resistance with DriTherm® technology. Knauf Insulation glasswool insulation is silicone treated, which provides enhanced moisture resistance.

Scope of Use
  • Knauf Insulation glasswool insulation has been appraised by BRANZ as a thermal insulation material for framed or part-framed walls, ceilings and roofs of domestic and commercial buildings
  • The insulation is pre-cut to suit a wide range of thermal insulation requirements and framing set-outs.
  • Comes in a range of R-values — see Product Data Sheet
Limitations on Use
  • Knauf Insulation glasswool insulation must be stored under cover and in dry conditions.
  • Heavy objects must not be stacked on the packs. The packs must be stored in an orientation that avoids excessive compression of the product

Statement of Building Code Compliance

AS/NZS 4859.1: 2018 Materials used in the Thermal Insulation of Buildings.

In the opinion of BRANZ, Knauf Insulaiton if designed, used, installed and maintained in accordance with the statements and conditions of this Appraisal, will meet or contribute to meeting the following provisions of the NZBC:

  • Clause B2 DURABILITY: Performance B2.3.1 (a) not less than 50 years and B2.3.1 (b) 15 years
    Knauf Insulation glasswool insulation will meet these requirements. See Paragraph 8.1
  • Clause E3 INTERNAL MOISTURE: Performance E3.3.1
    Knauf Insulation glasswool insulation will contribute to meeting this requirement. See Paragraphs 13.1 and 13.2
  • Clause F2 HAZARDOUS BUILDING MATERIALS: Performance F2.3.1
    Knauf Insulation glasswool insulation meets this requirement and will not present a health hazard to people
  • Clause H1 ENERGY EFFICIENCY: Performance H1.3.1 (a) and H1.3.2
    Knauf Insulation glasswool insulation will contribute to meeting this requirement. See Paragraphs 14.1 and 14.2
