JSC Clipp® Batten System
Description

The JSC Clipp® Batten System integrates sustainable timber battens and the Grad® aluminium rail with a patented clipping system for easy installation and maintenance. Suitable for walls and ceilings with a fixture-free appearance, this solution offers a beautiful design aesthetic while drastically reducing installation timeframes compared to traditional timber batten systems. 

Timber battens are available in multiple species, including Western Red Cedar, Western Hemlock, and thermally modified species, providing options for superior durability, and aesthetic flexibility.

Scope of Use
  • Suitable for interior walls and ceilings in residential and commercial buildings
  • Compatible with timber-framed, steel-framed, and concrete substrates
  • Rail/timber batten can be fixed to timber framing, steel framing, and concrete walls as well as timber framed and steel rail ceilings
  • Customisable batten and sizes for tailored aesthetics — 60mm or 80mm clip/batten spacing available
  • Appropriate for use in areas with low imposed forces
Limitations on Use
  • Designed for non-structural applications with low imposed forces
  • Not suitable for sports areas or playgrounds due to potential impact forces
  • Ensure compatibility with the building’s moisture management requirements
  • Requires specific fixing methods depending on the substrate type
  • Consult with a structural engineer for applications involving high impact or load forces
  • For suspended ceiling applications, JSC recommends consulting your suspended ceiling manufacturer
  • The specifications of the system are determined by the weight of the selected timber battens and specific engineering requirements of the project

The JSC Clipp® Batten System is new to the New Zealand market, however, the Grad® patented clipping system has been used successfully in various residential and commercial projects internationally. The Grad® patented clipping system has over 20 years of proven performance in architectural applications internationally.
