High-speed doors Next Generation
Description

A range of high-speed spiral doors with a modular design, allowing four different door leaf types to be used with a uniform frame construction.

The spiral-guided system ensures quiet, low-wear operation without shaft winding, providing high durability, wind resistance, and thermal performance for demanding industrial applications.

Key Features
  • Opening speeds up to 4.0 metres per second (model dependent)
  • Wind load resistance up to Class 5 (DIN EN 12424)
  • Thermal insulation values up to 1.4 W/m²K (DIN EN 12428)
  • Sound insulation up to 25 dB(A) (DIN EN ISO 717-1)
  • Air permeability up to Class 3 (DIN EN 12426)
  • Integrated infrared light grid (EFA-TLG®) for non-contact safety detection up to 2.5m height
  • Wear-free, contact-free spiral guiding for low maintenance and quiet operation
  • Door leaves available in thermally separated EFA-THERM®, anodised aluminium, acrylic glass, or PVC fabric depending on model
  • Modular curtain design allows quick replacement of individual segments (roll-up models)
  • Manual emergency opening enabled by DIN EN 12064-certified spring mechanism
  • Control systems rated to IP 54 or IP 65, with 230V or 400V / 50 Hz power supply options
  • Certified compliance with DIN EN 13241-1 for industrial door safety standards
Scope of Use

EFAFLEX Next Generation high-speed doors are suitable for use in high wind zones, with models rated up to wind load Class 5 (equivalent to +1050 Pa / -1050 Pa), making them appropriate for exposed industrial and commercial sites across New Zealand. Their thermally insulated door leaves and air permeability ratings (up to Class 3) support energy efficiency in temperature-controlled environments, such as cold storage, warehousing, and manufacturing facilities.

Constructed from galvanised or anodised aluminium, and with options for corrosion-resistant finishes, these doors are compatible with marine or high corrosion zones when specified. The doors require stable mounting surfaces and are suitable for use in seismic zones, subject to site-specific structural assessment. Their rapid opening speeds and robust safety systems make them ideal for high-traffic internal and external applications requiring efficient access and environmental separation.

Limitations on Use
  • Installation requires stable structural surfaces; suitability in seismic zones must be confirmed by project-specific engineering assessment.
  • Standard finishes may not be suitable for marine or high-corrosion environments specify corrosion-resistant materials where required.
  • Operating temperature range is -15°C to +50°C; use outside this range may affect performance.
  • Control systems require 230V or 400V, 50 Hz power supply and must be installed by qualified personnel; integration with automation or access control systems must use compatible interfaces.
  • Not designed for cleanroom applications or environments requiring air pressure regulation beyond Class 3 air permeability without additional specification.
Other Performance Attributes
  • Wear-free spiral guiding system ensures minimal maintenance and extended service life
  • Modular curtain design (for roll-up models) allows rapid replacement of damaged sections, reducing downtime
  • Anodised aluminium and coated surfaces offer enhanced durability and retention of appearance in industrial environments
  • TÜV-approvedEFA-TLG® infrared light grid provides non-contact safety detection, enhancing operational safety compliance
  • Manual override functionality via certified spring mechanism ensures secure operation during power failure scenarios
