ProctorPassive Wraptite UV-SA
Description

ProctorPassive Wraptite UV-SA is a vapour permeable self-adhering airtight UV-resistant membrane. It combines all the best properties of a UV-resistant vapour permeable water and air barrier membrane in one innovative self-adhering product designed for use behind open jointed cladding. Wraptite UV-SA utilises a patented full coverage vapour permeable adhesive to provide high vapour permeability.

Wraptite UV -SA has exceptional water resistance and UV resistance to allow for a ‘shadow’ appearance within open rainscreen façades. Manufactured from polyester non-woven textile and a functional UV resistant vapour open coating, with a proprietary acrylic moisture vapour permeable adhesive and silicone coated PET release liner. Wraptite UV bonds (no mechanical attachment) to multiple substrates for air tightness and ease of installation, negating the requirement for a primer, sealants of tapes. Adhesive curing time is approximately 6hrs to depending on environmental conditions.

Wraptite UV-SA prevents lateral air movement enhancing the buildings thermal performance. With a vapour resistance of 0.67MNs/g vapour permeability in a commercial quality, self-adhered, airtight breathable membrane.

Scope of Use

1. ProctorPassive Wraptite UV-SA is certified for use with buildings:

  • a) designed and constructed to:
    • i. NZS3604 and located in wind zones up to and including Extra High (as defined in NZS3604) or
    • ii. NZS3603 and AS/NZS 1170 with a maximum wind design pressure (ULS) limited by the capacity of the substrate to which ProctorPassive Wraptite UV-SA is applied, and
  • b) with the following claddings:
    • i. closed joint face sealed absorbent or non-absorbent directly fixed, or over a nominal 20 mm or more drained cavity, or
    • ii. open joint rain screen installed over a nominal 20 mm or more drained cavity, and where the joint openings in the façade covering are less than 30% of the area, and maximum 30 mm wide, and
    • iii. masonry veneer in accordance with NZBC Acceptable Solution E2/AS1, and
  • c) located in any exposure zone except microclimates (as defined in NZS3604), and d) applied to the following substrates: plywood, fibre cement sheet, exterior grade gypsum, timber, OSB board, aluminium (mill finish, painted or powder-coated), steel sheet (including stainless, galvanised or pre-painted), concrete, smooth dense EPS and XPS board, and rigid vinyl.

2. ProctorPassive Wraptite UV-SA shall:

  • a) be installed in accordance with the User Guide Wraptite UV-SA Australia & New Zealand July 2022, and not be exposed to the weather or direct sunlight for more than 9 months (4 months where installing an open joint cladding) during construction.

3. Contribution to compliance with Building Code clause H1.3.1(b) is conditional on the element incorporating ProctorPassive Wraptite UVSA being part of the thermal envelope of the building.

 

Limitations on Use
  • To protect the membrane from mechanical damage, the joint openings in the facade covering have to be less than 30 of the area and maximum 30mm wide.
