CS TimberFormed Cavity Slider
Description

CS TimberFormed is a high quality architectural cavity slider engineered to fulfil the majority of your build's requirements. The original design has been improved continuously since 1986 and it is our premium cavity pocket. There are number of detail options available for customising this unit to requirements.

Jambs are supplied in either Pine or Rimu for architraves or grooved for plaster board. Special sizes, timbers and profiles are available on request (grooved jambs are mitred). Supplied fully assembled, with or without a door fitted. 

Available with SofStop soft close.

Scope of Use
  • CS Cavity Sliders units have been appraised for use with sliding doors in internal locations in residential, commercial and light industrial buildings
  • Lintels over the full trim size (opening and pocket) should be sized to ensure that no load is applied to the door assembly
  • Lintels to NZS3604 are acceptable for door weights up to 75kg per metre width of door. Specific design required when the door weight exceeds 75kg per metre
  • Track must be fitted level and straight and fixed at maximum 600mm centres to the lintel
  • Fits into a standard thickness wall (90 x 45mm framing)
Limitations on Use
  • CS Cavity Sliders are not suitable for use with fire doors or smoke control doors.
  • CS Cavity Sliders are suitable for use in single detached dwellings (SH purpose groups). In all other purpose groups, CS Cavity Sliders are not permitted within or for providing access to exitways
  • Max. Door Weight (standard): 240kg
  • Max. Door Weight (SofStop): 100kg
Statement of Building Code Compliance

CS Cavity Sliders will, if employed in accordance with the supplier's installation and maintenance requirements, assist with meeting the following provisions of the building code:

  • Clause B1 Structure: Performance B1.3.1, B1.3.2 and B1.3.4. CS Cavity Sliders meet the requirements for loads arising from self-weight, earthquake, wind and impact [i.e. B1.3.3 [a], [f], [h] and [j]].
  • Clause B2 Durability: Performance B2.3.1 [a], not less than 50 years, [b], 15 years and [c], 5 years. CS Cavity Sliders meet these requirements.
  • Clause F2 Hazardous Building Materials: Performance F2.3.1. CS Cavity Sliders meet this requirement and will not present a health hazard to people.

CS Cavity Sliders have been successfully used in commercial, residential and institutional projects in New Zealand and Australia since 1986.
