CS BraceWall Cavity Slider
Description

The CS BraceWall is a cavity slider designed for use in areas where wall bracing is required in conjunction with a cavity sliding door. This system combines all the benefits of the market leading CS CavitySliders range with the added advantage of an integrated bracing panel.

NB: Minimum compliant pocket width is 710mm.

Operation: Choose from standard M6 (120kg) or M8 (240kg) carriages or SofStop Single soft close (100kg)

Scope of Use

CS Cavity Sliders units have been appraised for use with sliding doors in internal locations in residential, commercial and light industrial buildings.

  • Fits into a standard thickness wall (90 x 45 framing)
  • Install into a timber or concrete floor
  • Available with timber or aluminium jambs
Limitations on Use
  • Minimum compliant pocket width is 710mm
  • CS Cavity Sliders are not suitable for use with fire doors or smoke control doors
  • CS Cavity Sliders are suitable for use in single detached dwellings (SH purpose groups). In all other purpose groups, CS Cavity Sliders are not permitted within or for providing access to exitways
Statement of Building Code Compliance

CS Cavity Sliders will, if employed in accordance with the supplier's installation and maintenance requirements, assist with meeting the following provisions of the building code:

  • Clause B1 Structure: Performance B1.3.1, B1.3.2 and B1.3.4. CS Cavity Sliders meet the requirements for loads arising from self-weight, earthquake, wind and impact [i.e. B1.3.3 [a], [f], [h] and [j]]
  • Clause B2 Durability: Performance B2.3.1 [a], not less than 50 years, [b], 15 years and [c], 5 years. CS Cavity Sliders meet these requirements
  • Clause F2 Hazardous Building Materials: Performance F2.3.1. CS Cavity Sliders meet this requirement and will not present a health hazard to people
In-Service History

CS Cavity Sliders have been successfully used in commercial, residential and institutional projects in New Zealand and Australia since 1986. CS Cavity Sliders are backed by a 10 Year Written Guarantee.

Other Performance Attributes

The patented design has been developed to comply with the P21 test for calculating bracing units in New Zealand. The solution enables all the standard benefits of the CS CavitySliders range, and once installed and lined, the finished appearance is the same as that of a regular cavity slider.

The new system has been engineered to meet the requirements of the New Zealand Building Code, and has been tested and analysed by BRANZ using the P21 method.
