Description

Abodo Vulcan Decking is a sustainable and natural choice with timber sourced from rapidly renewable New Zealand plantation forests. Vulcan Decking features a reeded face that provides enhanced weathering characteristics and grip under foot.

For ultimate durability, the timber undergoes Abodo’s thermal modification process and is pressure treated with a low VOC organic preservative (OPX) that includes a water repellent and insecticide. The thermal modification process means Abodo Vulcan Decking has reduced resin content, resulting in enhanced stability through all weathers.

The natural timber provides a beautiful, homogeneous brown tone that silvers off, suits a wide range of architectural styles. Unlike most hardwoods, Vulcan Decking does not require pre-drilling. It’s easy to work with, cut and fix.

Scope of Use

Vulcan Decking is designed to be used as a decking timber fixed on buildings in accordance with NZS 3604 clause 7.4.
Residential and light commercial

Limitations on Use

Must be designed and installed in accordance with the Abodo technical literature
Colour variation may occur due to variation in the natural substrate — colour may change/fade as part of the weathering process

Statement of Building Code Compliance

This product will, if employed in accordance with the supplier's installation and maintenance requirements, assist with meeting the following provisions of the building code:

Clause B2 Durability: Performance B2.3.1(b)
B2 Durability: By assessment against the provisions of Acceptable Solutions B2/AS1 and E2/AS1, and testing and expert opinion with the provisions of Verification Method B2/VM1
