The Rototuna shopping centre is a modern shopping area offering shoppers the comforts of a contemporary urban environment, as well as providing apartment living close to retail and dining areas. The way New Zealanders live is changing and the requirement for shelter and protection in commonly used areas is increasing.

Spectrum offers a wide range of architectural products to meet the requirements for fall protection, shelter from rain, wind and sun, as well as privacy. In this project the developer chose Spectrum's Clearspan framed glass and Clearview semi-frameless glass balustrades along with louvres to achieve this modern, functional and stylish environment.

Clearview Balustrade was used along the edge of the walking area to provide fall protection, noise reduction, wind screening and privacy from the road. The sturdy posts of the Clearview Balustrade were up to the task of supporting the 1500mm height that was required to provide adequate screening. Clearview is a versatile product which is great for balustrades, pool fencing, privacy screens and wind protection. A range of glass types and colours can be used achieve the desired effect.

150mm sun shade louvres fitted to the canopies allow light to filter in to the shops and cafes while sheltering café goers from the sun's rays. The medium sized louvre blades blend in with the surrounding structure. A range of louvre blade sizes and fixing options are available for residential and commercial applications.
