Hereford Residences is a large scale upgrade project where the former Telecom HQ building was converted into luxury apartments. Additional levels were added on top of the existing building to create penthouse apartments with stunning views. Spectrum Clearview was selected by the demanding architects seeking the best possible product and design for this high profile project. Clearview is a tried and tested product, made in NZ, backed by a NZ owned and operated company.
The project involved a range of fixing details including top and side fix to concrete as well as fixing to timber parapet walls. A mix of half and full height balustrades were used to complete the project, as well as communal areas where screen printed glass was used. A range of standard and corner posts were used to complete the project. The unique 135° post is very beneficial on decks with 135 / 45 degree corners.
The June 2016 NZS4223.3 Standard changes have affected balustrade design in relation to frameless glass balustrades. Spectrum offers fully compliant balustrade systems to meet and exceed the updated standard which include the use of laminated glass or interlinking handrails in the form of capped or offset. These options offer solutions to clients' varying design and budget requirements.
The result for the client is fantastic with the fresh building looking smart with the white colour scheme contrasting the black balustrade posts.
