The Burcham in Sydney was originally built in 1918 as the Wrigleys factory. Today the building is restored and refreshed as a high-end apartment complex. The multi-purpose rooftop space has been repurposed as a communal area, maximising the prime real estate.
A low-height structural solution was required for the unconventional rooftop design which features individual balconies and common courtyard spaces.
The creative rooftop deck design was crafted of organic shapes made in hardwood and supported by QwickBuild for membrane protection. QwickBuild also enabled a flush level between the decking and tiles. The extra engineered support enabled the pergola to be integrated into the design.
