Transforming the home with Ultim8 composite decking
When Robin Baillie of Baillie Architectural specifies decking for his clients, he always looks for durability and low maintenance. That’s why after extensive research into next-generation composite decking products, Robin uses Ultim8 for its durability and 15-year no-fade promise.
So when it came to his own home-renovation project in Matua, Tauranga, Ultim8 composite decking was the obvious choice.
Reliable design, elegant aesthetic
“Once done, you can forget about it. Low maintenance appealed to me. There is a 15-year warranty too, which offers reassurance,” says Robin.
Robin also loved the look and colour of Ultim8. He chose weathered grey to fit in with the colour theme of his home, and create a flow from indoor to outdoor. Because his house is a slightly darker shade, the colour blends in seamlessly.
With Ultim8 composite decking, there are no issues with hardwood bleeding and potentially staining indoor floors. Manufactured from recycled HDPE plastic and bamboo fibre, there is no need to worry about splintering which was important with young grandchildren running around.
Exceptional service and craftsmanship
The renovation faced time constraints, so there was pressure to have the additional decking done in time. To ensure this, the IBuilt NZWOOD rep, Martyn, made a special trip to deliver extra decking materials.
Robin says he’s truly elated with this level of service and customer care. IBuilt’s service was “above and beyond” his expectations, and he was very grateful for the hard work.
Robin’s house will be judged by the annual Master Builders Renovation House of the Year.
