However, by combining the Koolduct pre-insulated ductwork system with Ventureclad flexible cladding, that is exactly what Forman Building Systems was able to offer.
The Koolduct system offers a number of advantages over sheet-metal ductwork. The exceptional strength-to-weight ratio of the Koolduct system allows for ductwork sections of up to 4m in length to be fabricated. These sections are easier to handle and quicker to install than existing, often cumbersome, sheet-metal products. Using the Koolduct system can reduce air leakage by as much as 25%, which leads to significant savings in running costs (up to 30%) and a reduction in overall CO2 emissions.
The provision of expert training to Command Services and Twin Lake Sheet Metals ensured that not only was the product installed efficiently, but also to a very high standard. This meant that the manufacturer had no hesitations in offering a 15-year product warranty, providing long-lasting performance confidence.
By cladding the Koolduct system with Ventureclad’s five-ply vapour barrier jacketing, the product was able to be installed externally without concern about exposure to extreme environmental conditions. Ventureclad’s flexible but hardwearing design meant that the product could be installed onsite without a requirement for specialist tools or a sub-trade.
All in all, an innovative solution was found that met the exacting standards of Freear Philip as the main contractor.
