Bagging plaster provides an attractive rustic feel to the exterior of any masonry clad building without completely concealing the nature of the underlying substrate’s character.
Masons are a key supplier of trade building products including New Zealand’s only CodeMark certified BrickTies, brick and block lock for strengthening brick veneer and exterior plaster systems.
Masons have created a specification for this popular plaster technique and this is now available from the EBOSS and Masons Websites.
Masons Bagging Plaster system is versatile and may be applied over new or old brick and blocks. The texture of the coat results from the chosen bagging mix, in combination with the application technique. Masons Adobe is smoother and flatter, while Masons 1mm sponge will have a coarser, sandier texture. The coat of plaster mix can be applied with the use of a sponge, hessian bag material or a brush or broom.
The appearance will vary depending on the application method that is used to spread the mix and the hand movements of the plasterer. Due to the many variables in this system, Masons recommend the plasterer applies a test-patch for sign-off by the client.
Masons release new products on a regular basis. Stay up to date by following the Masons – Facebook page.
