Masons to Supply Bricklock Joint Reinforcement

Masons is pleased to announce to the building industry that it is now the supplier of Bricklock Joint Reinforcement. This simple, economic solution to reinforcing brick and block veneers is available in both galvanised and stainless steel.

These products, along with Masons Brick Ties, will provide the home or building owner with peace of mind, knowing the cladding has added strengthening.

John Oliver, author of John Oliver's Brick Book, says "Bricklock has two fundamental functions; to help prevent any cracking in the brick veneer, especially a plastered veneer where it becomes obvious, and to add strength, stability and security to a heavy weight cladding in the event of excessive movement and in particular earthquakes.

"It is important to remember that the total ability of a masonry veneer, or any brickwork for that matter, to perform to expectations largely depends on the quality of mortar used. Research has shown there can be significant variation in mortar qualities, and I would certainly recommend using 'Bricklock' Joint Reinforcement as a good insurance towards installing a veneer or garden wall that will meet expectations."
