Built by Jennian Homes, this 279m² home in stunning Tutukaka features four bedrooms, two bathrooms, a large kitchen, two generous living spaces and a substantial decking area with breathtaking views. Considered positioning was needed for the house to protect it from the high wind.
Natural materials in coastal-inspired colours were chosen for the exterior. Cladding in schist, rendered brick, and hard-wearing Linea weatherboard created a firm foundation. Marley Typhoon spouting in Titanium — part of Marley's Stratus Design Series range, with matching RP80 downpipes, made for a sensible and stylish choice for the finishing touch to the exterior.
“We liked the look of the Marley Typhoon spouting” says Shaun. “Plus, our location raised a few concerns for choosing the right spouting, like the salt-laden air, and long, hot sunny summer days. Marley’s uPVC spouting solved it all for us.”
Marley Typhoon spouting systems have been designed for the efficient flow of rain water, and when used in conjunction with Marley’s RP80 80mm round downpipe system can withstand prolonged heavy rainfall. This co-extruded spouting and downpipe system with its coloured outer layer is guaranteed for 15 years and has been designed and made in New Zealand to stand up to NZ's unique UV rays and climate. And being made from uPVC, will never rust, no matter what elements a home is exposed to. This is particularly important for exposed coastal sites such as this one.
Now the build is done and they’ve settled in to their new home, Shaun says “It is an extremely liveable house and the living areas have the benefit of the amazing panoramic views.”
From the big picture to the finer details, like the finishing touch of Marley Typhoon uPVC spouting in Titanium, the considered attention to detail has really paid off.
