Expanded Range of Outdoor Living Systems from Juralco

The VelaSun Outdoor Living System is an ideal option for providing extra outdoor shelter for a property. It creates an enjoyable and comfortable area that enables flexible use throughout the year, irrespective of the weather. This elegant aluminium, fixed outdoor pergola system has been designed to shelter an outdoor entertainment area from harsh sun and rain and presents the perfect fixed canopy for New Zealand’s variable weather conditions.

Where SunPivot is a traditional pivoting roof and SunFold is a folding and opening louvre roof, VelaSun is a fixed proposition. It is supplied open or with two infill choices of glass or polycarbonate. Based on feedback from customers and installation network, there was a clear demand for a roof of this style, and Juralco have introduced it to the market to fulfil that need.

A recent project where VelaSun has been installed illustrates how this product has contributed to the design of an innovative outdoor living area. Fencibles Football Club in East Auckland has a large elevated outdoor deck of 60m² that is regularly exposed to beating sun and occasionally driving rain. A roof solution was required to enable spectators of their games to enjoy the clubroom facilities shaded from the harsh effects of NZ sun and also protected from wind and rain.

Installation of the custom-built durable powder coated aluminium frame, with its UV-resistant polycarbonate roofing infill will require minimal maintenance. It has enhanced this outdoor space with the promotion of shade, airflow and lighting, and most importantly, year-round use by spectators. While this was a large roof of 72m² VelaSun is also a perfect option for smaller areas like townhouse yards or apartment balconies.

Suitable for NZS3604 Low, Medium, High, Very High and Extra High Wind Zones up to Design Wind pressure of 2.5kPa as noted in the Fabrication Manual, when attached to buildings within the scope of NZS3604
