A1 Homes opened a new showhome from its Beach Home range at 8 Shamrock Drive, Kumeu, using James Hardie's HomeRAB Pre-cladding.
A1 Homes use a number of James Hardie products in its standard plans, with the majority of the A1 range using James Hardie cladding throughout.
“HomeRAB Pre-cladding is particularly suited to the Beach Home range as these homes are often built in exposed, high wind locations,” says Matt Cunliffe, General Manager of A1 Homes.
Certified and tested for New Zealand conditions, HomeRAB Pre-cladding provides effective wind resistance in extra high wind zones. The 4.5mm fibre cement sheet is used as a rigid air barrier to provide both structural bracing and air tightness. However, unlike other rigid air barriers, it contains no harmful chemicals and does not warp, expand or contract like wood.
“HomeRAB Pre-cladding is a cost-effective, quality alternative to other underlays. The same base products that go into a more expensive home, including HomeRAB, are found in our homes because they offer high quality at a reasonable cost,” explains Cunliffe.
With an innovative score and snap feature, HomeRAB Pre-cladding is also quick and easy to install and the sealed face and edges provide excellent temporary weather protection during construction.
“It was amazing to see how quickly the home was closed in,” says Cunliffe. “Site security is a key concern and early lock up is one of the main benefits of the product.”
