Heritage Carpets imports and distributes flooring via specifiers and commercial buyers. They have partners with whom they work exclusively in the New Zealand market. All are well established with exemplary histories of service and quality product offerings globally.
What that means for architects they supply to is that the benefits are two-fold; each partner brand has resources they can call on, coupled with the services Heritage Carpets offer locally.
Together, their aim is to make specifying carpets easy for you. You'll be floored by how stress-free it can be.
Simplifying specification and design
Heritage Carpets do more than curate and bring you samples that match your brief.
Their team can provide flooring layouts in your floor plan that ensure pattern matches and minimised waste. If you have photos or elevations, they can also provide a 3D visualisation of their flooring in your space.
Their partner brands modulyss and Bentley offer a ‘see it in your room’ online design tool so you can visualise what the flooring will look like in your concept:
Modulyss offers a design inspiration section on their website, according to international trends, referencing their ranges.
In addition, modulyss and Bentley have concept design teams who can create a custom mood board for your project.
Unique design solutions
Aside from the vast array of products on offer from Heritage Carpets' partners, which supports being able to find a design unique to your concept, Bentley provides a custom colour service called COLORCAST that allows you to select a design and have the yarn colour matched to your reference. Fletco Carpets also allow for custom colour for their flat-weave carpet yarns.
Heritage Carpets supplies fully custom rugs and carpets, typically hand-tufted wool or unique Axminster carpets.
Recent projects include Holiday Inn bespoke rugs inspired by the landscape in Queenstown, and custom carpets for an Invercargill Licensing Trust hotel inspired by deep blue lakes. Perhaps the best example of a custom carpet and rug project combined is the Novotel Christchurch Airport.
Heritage Carpets worked alongside the design team at Warren and Mahoney to come up with carpet designs for hotel rooms, corridors and meeting spaces, refining colour and design through the provision of sampling.
They created layouts for the full flooring fit-out to optimise the effect of the custom patterns, especially joins and junctions, as well as minimising waste.
They supported the design team's design concepts for a variety of rugs throughout the reception and relaxation spaces for the lobby, installing stunning hand-tufted Axminster pieces that are hallmarks of the hotel experience.
Compliance
In the two critical areas of fire and acoustics, all products meet or exceed the New Zealand Standards. Heritage Carpets can provide acoustic test results for all their products.
Efficiencies in cost and time
Heritage Carpets' design support services are invaluable to save you time.
Typically the biggest challenge is lead times; Heritage Carpets hold some stock in their Auckland warehouse, and in Australia and Singapore, meaning a solution can be found from 1-4 weeks for a significant number of their carpet designs.
Bentley Mills LA offers many designs on a FAST TRACK service, meaning they can be dispatched from the US East coast 10 days after confirmation of the order.
Heritage Carpets' relationship is such with their international partners that they are able to keep as much pressure on the supply chain as possible to help mitigate delays where possible. At times the team have been on the phone at 2am to ensure product is delivered on time. Yes, they are those people!
Heritage Carpets' mission
Heritage Carpets aren’t simply ‘product’, they are also ‘service’.
On their website they say this:
"Heritage Carpets makes premium commercial carpet solutions simple for New Zealand, offering style and value with a positive and conscious approach."
This isn’t an empty promise, it is their Mission Statement.
Heritage Carpets are a small New Zealand-owned and operated business; they work with their passion for flooring and their customers at the core of what they do. Relationships are their reputation, along with the quality of the product they provide.
