Mal's client was after a kitchen, bathrooms, laundry and wardrobes that reflected the stately villa they had transported to Matamata. They were keen on a black and white theme, to which shades of grey could be added. The kitchens and bathrooms had to have a presence and strong architectural element — Mal didn't want to do just a traditional style, but a more transitional design which included some modern elements.
Corian was a natural choice for Mal as the island benchtop is seven metres long, features two butlers sinks and he didn't want any joins, which would have been the case with marble or granite. Venaro White is one of Mal's favourite Corian colours as it has a lovely marbled effect, which looks stunning on this very long top. As the client has a young family, Corian is a good choice as it is easily cleaned and maintained.
To complement the Corian Venaro White in the kitchen, Mal chose Corian Cameo White for all the bathroom and laundry tops, lacquering the cabinets to match this soft, chalky colour. Corian is a great product to use in bathrooms and laundries because of its durability.
The clients are very happy with the completed project. The kitchen is breathtaking to look at and the main ensuite bathroom has the feel of a six-star hotel.
