Introducing a New Environmentally Friendly Glasswool Insulation Option

Eco Insulation Systems Ltd has been helping to improve the energy efficiency and comfort of Kiwi buildings since 2000, and is now further driving innovation in the marketplace with the launch of ecoinsulation glasswool.

This modern range of insulation is manufactured for Eco Insulation by Knauf Insulation utilising state-of-the-art technology and comes with a long and distinguished list of some of the highest environmental standards including:

  • Five independently verified Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs)
  • Global GreenTag Level A
  • Eurofins Indoor Air Comfort Gold Standard
  • EUCEB

ecoinsulation glasswool is made in manufacturing plants that have achieved leading manufacturing certification including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 50001 and BES 6001; the manufacturing plants for the wall and ceiling products send zero waste to landfill.

In addition, ecoinsulation glasswool is a highly sustainable product that is made using up to 80% recycled glass, which mainly contains post-consumer glass bottles and a bio-based binder technology called ECOSE Technology. ECOSE Technology is a sustainable binder that is based on rapidly renewable materials and contains no added phenols or formaldehyde.

While sustainability is a driver for innovation in the construction industry, safety is also paramount and with initiatives such as the Living Building Challenge that includes formaldehyde-free specifications; ecoinsulation glasswool is one of only a few glasswool products available in New Zealand that meet these requirements.

ecoinsulation glasswool is available for wall, ceiling and floor applications and comes with CodeMark certification and BRANZ Appraisals.
