Dulux Colour Awards Finalist: Dine by Design Project

As part of the challenge, each of the four invited interior designers were tasked with creating a workable dining room that showcased creativity and individuality.

Alex Fulton's dining room design - which ended up winning the Dine by Design "People's Choice Award" - was based around creating a traditional dining setting with a difference.

Having purchased a complete dining room set on Trade Me - which included a sideboard, chairs and a table - Alex set about transforming the furniture, using a high gloss Dulux paint in bold, vibrant colours.

Alex is passionate about the creative use of colour, which is reflected throughout this whimsical dining room design, where just about every object in the space - from the walls and picture frames, right through to the vases and light pendants - are painted in a bold and bright hue.
