From residential dwellings to commercial builds, COLORSTEEL has been used extensively across the country for over 40 years. This year, the COLORSTEEL Awards are back to celebrate the finest COLORSTEEL designs, with both Residential and Commercial Building of the Year awards in the mix.
The prestigious COLORSTEEL Residential Building of the Year award celebrates the exceptional use of COLORSTEEL in the residential sector. The winner will have showcased COLORSTEEL as the dominant feature of the project, with the building’s visual aesthetics, functionality and the quality of finishing all taken into consideration. Judged similarly to the Residential Building of the Year Category, the esteemed COLORSTEEL Commercial Building of the Year Award will recognise the best application of COLORSTEEL in the commercial sector. The winner of each category will walk away with $10,000 cash. These awards sit alongside the New Roofer and Roofer of the Year Awards (with Roofer of the Year being split by profile — Tray, Trapezoidal, Corrugate and overarching Supreme Winner), acknowledging talented roofers across New Zealand. In addition, a special acknowledgement award for Service to Roofing will be awarded to an individual who has continually made a significant contribution to the industry.
“It’s always impressive to see the breadth and quality of design and workmanship around Aotearoa,” says returning judge Ken Crosson. Ken, Director at Crosson Architects is joined on the judging panel by Lindley Naismith — Co-Founder Scarlet Architects and Past Co-Chair Architecture + Women NZ, Graham Moor — CEO Roofing Association of NZ, Mark Bishop — Managing Director Roof Safe NZ and Rod Newbold — Customer & Market Applications Specialist, NZ Steel.
Entries are open now and close June 30th, with the Awards Event taking place on the 7th October at the Auckland Town Hall.
