ColorCote EPD Gives Specifiers Peace of Mind

Pacific Coilcoaters has launched its Environmental Product Declaration (EPD Australasia) to the market for its ColorCote ZinaCore, MagnaFlow and AlumiGard products.

An Environmental Product Declaration, or EPD, is a standardised and verified way of quantifying the environmental impacts of a product over its life cycle based on a consistent set of rules known as a PCR (Product Category Rules). Every EPD is reviewed and verified by an independent third party. This independent verification process ensures high-quality results and legal certitude regarding the data.

ColorCote’s EPD considers all processes, from raw materials to the point the roll-formed product is ready to leave the manufacturer's store, giving a holistic view of the product. This will allow homeowners, architects and designers to make informed decisions on choices of building materials when thinking about building sustainability and performance.

ColorCote AlumiGard (formerly AR8)

AlumiGard is a pre-painted aluminium product, using a marine grade aluminium alloy substrate, for all roofing and cladding environments.

AlumiGard and AlumiGard X have outstanding colour and gloss retention and are suitable for roofing, cladding, and rainwater goods.

AlumiGard is ideal for interior and exterior applications, including ‘very severe marine’ and industrial sites where there is a very high risk of deterioration from corrosive elements in the environment. These include salt-laden, geothermal and heavy industrial environments (particularly acidic/low ph).

Where there are corrosive chemicals present in the atmosphere (such as airports, gas stations or loading bays), it is advisable to use AlumiGard X, with a 70% PVDF topcoat.

ColorCote AlumiGard and AlumiGard X, under normal well washed conditions of exposure, can be expected to show no cracking (other than that which may occur during forming), flaking or peeling of the paint film for 15 years from the date of installation.

Magna flow is a pre-painted roofing or cladding steel substrate with magnesium added technology for superior corrosion resistance.

The superior corrosion resistance of MagnaFlow means it is an ideal choice for more demanding environments, such as severe marine environments close to the coast, as well as industrial sites where cladding is exposed to high ph (alkaline) cleaning products, such as dairy factories, fertiliser processing & storage facilities or abattoirs.

Where there are corrosive chemicals present in the atmosphere, it is advisable to use MagnaFlow X, with a 70% PVDF topcoat.

MagnaFlow is ideal for animal shelters, flashings, interior uses, and exterior environments where corrosion levels are moderate.

ColorCote MagnaFlow and MagnaFlow X, under normal well washed conditions of exposure, can be expected to show no cracking (other than that which may occur during forming), flaking or peeling of the paint film for 15 years from the date of installation.

ColorCote ZinaCore is pre-painted steel with hot-dipped aluminium and zinc alloy, designed for excellent durability, colour retention and formability.

ZinaCore has very good colour and gloss retention and is suitable for roofing, cladding, and rainwater goods. It is ideal for interior uses and exterior environments where corrosion levels are moderate. It is also suitable for fencing applications.

ColorCote ZinaCore X is ideal for industrial sites where there is a high risk of deterioration from corrosive elements in the environment.

ColorCote ZinaCore and ZinaCore X, under normal well washed conditions of exposure, can be expected to show no cracking (other than that which may occur during forming), flaking or peeling of the paint film for 15 years from the date of installation.
