Forman Introduces the New Armstrong Seismic Design Guide for NZ

The Armstrong Seismic Guide has been designed to ensure end users, such as quantity surveyors and commercial interior contractors, can determine the needs and assess the cost of seismic requirements of projects they are involved in. This is carried out by following a number of simple steps laid out the guide.

The design guide can be used to design and install ceilings to meet the minimum code requirements. It can also cater for higher specification ceilings where, because of the importance of the building or because of client/architect/engineer demands, a more complex seismic design needs to be introduced.

The Armstrong Seismic Design Guide for New Zealand is supported by a suite of fully tested and code-compliant proprietary seismic clips (Seismic Rx). The Armstrong Rx clips provide interior contractors with an easy-to-install solution to increase the seismic performance of a suspended-ceiling grid system. This creates perimeter sliding connections and introduces seismic breaks in a ceiling (when required) to ensure minimal or no damage to the structure and, more importantly, protecting the occupants of the building and allowing them to safely escape during a seismic event.
