A questions that the APT team do NOT get asked enough is 'what can I do to optimise my design when specifying Corian and Fenix?'
Corian and Fenix are both premium products, however, with clever design techniques the cost of the product, fabrication and installation can be reduced to fit tighter budgets.
While the best approach is to contact your member of the APT team with your project details, here are a few straightforward considerations:
Corian Solid Surface:
- Foster a great working relationship with your Authorised Corian Fabricator — they are very experienced and you can tap into their wealth of knowledge on optimisation techniques.
- Glacier White is available in 19mm thick sheets, so can be used without requiring an edge buildup (just watch the cabinetry support and overhangs.)
- The standard sheet size is 3658mm long x 760mm wide by 12mm thick. All Corian colours are available in half sheets and one-third sheets — these are especially useful for bathrooms and smaller benchtops.
- Glacier White 12mm thick sheets are also available in 930mm wide sheets — this can be useful especially for commercial projects.
FENIX Pressed Panels
- The three most popular colours, Nero Ingo (deep black), Bianco Kos (universal white) and Bianco Male (warmer white) are available at a lower price point than the rest of the colour range.
- Consider a mix of F2S (Fenix on both sides of the panel) and 1F1B (Fenix on the front face and colour matched HPL on the back) for your project — use the 1F1B in the inconspicuous parts.
- As the APT panels are pressed in the deep South, customers in this area get an extra special price in recognition of this.
