Set in the almost brutalist architecture of the old Waikato Regional Council building, the Dynamo6 offices gave Designwell an opportunity to soften the largely concrete space using luxurious, colourful tretford carpet.
"Dynamo6 has always had beautifully bold brand colours," says Jackie Welten, interior designer for Designwell. "They’d just refreshed those to bright fuchsia, teal and yellow, and tretford was the obvious choice for us to get the colour and the shapes we wanted to incorporate in the design."
Natural goat-hair carpet
Made in Germany, tretford carpet is a unique product woven from 70% natural cashmere goat hair, ethically and sustainably sourced from small goat-herding communities in Mongolia. In New Zealand it is available in four stock colours, with a total of 60 to choose from.
"A lot of clients tend to steer away from bright colours, so it was great to work with the Dynamo6 team on pushing the boundaries with the design choices," says Jackie.
Rolls, tiles or custom rugs
Certified Global GreenTag Level A, tretford has the environmental qualifications to support its natural construction. It’s also highly versatile: available as rolls, tiles or custom rugs, it can be mixed and matched in cut and colour to suit any design.
"We’ve had a long relationship with Advance Flooring," says Jackie. "We love their products, and we’ve used them on many different projects over the years. We do a lot of custom products through them — including custom colours, textures and sizes — and they’re always brilliant to work with."
