Having worked through the design brief with the architect at an early stage, we were able to identify that we could complete the specification starting with the structural steel, right through to the natural clear coatings for timber surfaces.
One of our challenges was to deliver the natural look finishes desired across all of the various substrates and areas, whilst adhering to the NZGBC rating tools. One such area was the structural steel as a lot of the steel is exposed to view and fire rating requirements had to be met.
The solution was to prime all of the steel with Dulux Luxaprime ZP and then apply the Phoenix Low VOC Intumescent coatings, followed by Environmental Choice approved Dulux Aquanamel tinted to the specified colour as the finish coat.

Another key solution that we delivered was Dulux Enviro2 for all interior walls and ceilings. Dulux Enviro2 has less than 1gram of VOC per litre and not only is it an interior paint with good washability and application properties but it also meets the NZGBC rating tool.

The end result, a six star rating!
