Description

Firezone 52 is a pigmented water-based Intumescent coating achieving a Group 1S on interior timber substrates, and upgrades the FRR over existing plaster and cement wall and ceiling linings.

  • FireZone 52 is used extensively in heritage buildings to protect existing ceiling details
  • Water-borne formula is low VOC
  • Can be applied over stained or varnished substrates
  • Top-coat with any pigmented coloured paint such as a low-sheen acrylic to match existing surfaces
  • Sprayed on-site or off-site, minimising construction or client disruption
  • Easy to specify using Masterspec work section 6743ZF

Scope of Use

Suitable for interior timber ceiling and wall linings, with residential, multi-family, commercial and industrial projects, for both new and rehab/remedial applications.

Limitations on Use
  • All projects must have a detailed site specific Zone Architectural Products Ltd specification, prior to coating application.
  • Approved applicators only.
  • Ensure that the substrate is appropriate for application.
  • Zone Architectural Products is not responsible for determining the suitability of our coating, to substrates other than the tested system.
Statement of Building Code Compliance

FireZone 52 achieves a Group 1S as tested to ISO 5660. 2002 and NZBC verification method C/VM2. As tested on 9.5mm Douglas Fir Plywood being a Type 1 (most reactive) substrate. As tested by Applied Physics Laboratory: Test reference 1314/15/16B.

All FireZone products are applied by Zone approved applicators to ensure fire ratings are achieved and appropriate documentation maintained for code compliance.
