Scope of Use
- Residential and light commercial floors
Limitations on Use
- Installation instructions must be adhered to.
- 10mm perimeter gap is required — areas that are exposed to direct sunlight and temperatures over 40 degrees C or subject to significant temperature fluctuations, the expansion joint should be increased to 12mm.
- Floor prep — subfloor must be flat within 5mm over 3m.
- Skirtings must not be siliconed (only in wet areas).
- Floor to ceiling windows coupled with the NZ sun can create floor surface temperatures over 70°C. Classic Oak flooring is manufactured to be stable in low and high temperatures (0-50°C). However, floor should be protected from extreme temperatures and strong direct sunlight using interior temperature and humidity control (recommended temperatures 10-30° C), window tinting, awnings and / or curtains / blinds. Dramatic temperature changes and or extreme humidity can cause joins to lip / gap and prolonged direct sunlight may cause fading.
- A vapour barrier is recommended to prevent subfloor moisture rising and causing installation failure and mould.
- Cannot be installed over an electrical radiant heating system.
- Furniture should have feet protection and should not be dragged over floor.
