SmartVent Synergy 3 is a centralised energy recovery home ventilation system. The SmartVent Synergy 3 uses advanced automation with its four wireless and temperature sensors to manage moisture and reduce overheating while still recovering heat energy. Designed for low permeability homes, Synergy is suitable for buildings up to 350m².

Key Features
  • Delivers fresh filtered air to homes, removing VOCs (volatile organic compounds), viruses, pollens, CO₂, and excess moisture
  • Advanced automation and dew point controls to effectively manage internal moisture, condensation, and overheating
  • 75% efficient heat recovery core enables energy efficient home ventilation during winter months.
  • Four wireless humidity and temperature sensors
  • User friendly controls with 6.8” colour touchscreen and integrated app
  • Acoustically insulated ducting for quiet operation
  • Thermally insulated ducting for efficient heat transfer and reduced heat recovery losses
  • F7 grade filter with HEPA or carbon filter alternatives available
  • Full ventilation system design support
  • Compatible with the full range of SmartVent comfort add-ons including; Flexi Air Source, Tempering Heaters, and Heat Transfer
Scope of Use

The SmartVent Synergy 3 is designed for new build and airtight properties but is also suitable for renovations.

This solution is ideal for areas with environmental conditions that necessitate closed windows. This includes medium to high background noise areas, or regions with strong odours.

Suitable for:

  • Standalone homes
  • Terraced homes
  • Low rise apartments
  • Retirement homes
  • Student accommodation
  • All New Zealand climate zones
  • Integrating with ducted or high-wall heat pumps
  • Suitable for installation in roof cavities
  • Buildings up to 350m²
  • Easily expandable via the SmartVent design service

The SmartVent team is also able to provide free custom designs and solutions for domestic dwellings.

Limitations on Use
  • Must be installed in accordance with the installation instructions and recommendations made by SmartVent.
  • The efficiency of MVHR (mechanical ventilation with heat recovery) systems is affected by the installation style and integrity of the building envelope, to increase efficiency install within the thermal envelope and in buildings built prior to 2002, we recommend thermal and air-tightening measures are undertaken.
  • Not suitable for larger commercial properties.
  • Not suitable for extraction from wet rooms — use a SmartVent Balance or separate extraction fan if required.
Statement of Building Code Compliance

The SmartVent Synergy3 is designed to comply with NZ Building code, although correct design and installation is required in order to meet these standards.

The acceptable solutions for G4 (G4/AS1) outlines specific ventilation requirements in homes. If natural activities or environmental conditions produce any of the types of air pollution outlined in NZBC G4 3.3 , mechanical ventilation is required.

Additionally; as per table 2 in NZS4303:1990, private dwellings require 0.35 air changes per hour, but no less than 7.5 L/s per person, if openable windows aren’t suitable.

Other Performance Attributes

System filters: All SmartVent home ventilation systems are supplied with an F7 filter, which is capable of capturing up to 90% of 0.4 micron particles such as fine pollens, dusts and other allergens from the air. High quality HEPA filters are also available, which can capture particles 0.04 microns in size, an ideal solution for asthma and allergy sufferers. For environments with strong odours carbon filters can be fitted.

Filters should be changed every 6-18 months, depending on usage and environmental conditions.

Comfort add-ons:

Flexi Air Source: Ideal for taking advantage of summer cooling, a flexi air source enables the Synergy3 home ventilation system to bypass the heat recovery core, keeping incoming air cool.

Tempering Heater: SmartVent tempering heaters are inline heaters which gently warm air as it passes through the system. Not suitable as a replacement for heating within a home, a tempering heater will make the incoming air more comfortable.

Heat Transfer: Ideal for transferring warmth from one hot room, like a lounge with a fireplace, to another cold room.

Warranty:

All SmartVent systems feature a 5 year warranty.

Note that the product must be operated and maintained in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions contained in the operating & installation instructions provided with the product. The warranty on the entire system is void if non-genuine SmartVent parts (including but not limited to; controller, filter, duct, fan(s) and grilles) are used as this may affect performance.
