Brushless Motors for Swing Gates
Description

Edgesmith's range of swing gate motors from Roger Technology have 100% duty cycle, and have low energy consumption. Options include standard motors for gates up to 700kg, articulated arms for gates hung on large pillars or block walls, and underground motors where space is limited. Swing gates may be single leaf or bi-fold.

All Roger Technology motors have been developed with a modern design and low impact for the aesthetics of the gate.

Scope of Use
  • Optional battery backup

  • Intensive use 100% duty cycle

The choice of gate motor will be determined by a number of factors:

  • Gate size — length, height, weight
  • Gate style — solid infill or picket panels
  • Wind zone

Edgesmith's expert team can assist in choosing the correct motor for the application.

  • The range of Smarty and Presto motors provide performance options for different loadings.
  • The Ayron is designed for gates that are installed on large pillars or on a wall. This allows for the motor to be positioned triangularly so that the gate can open and not be impeded by the motor.
  • The Fantasma is artfully hidden underground. The motor and 'shoe' replaces the bottom hinge and allows the gate to pivot on the axis of the motor.  See video of a gate in action.
Limitations on Use
  • The ratio between gate length & weight need to be considered when choosing the correct motor
  • Other factors like wind or style of gate (solid infill or open picket) should also be considered
  • Double gates would require two motors
  • Contact Edgesmith's expert team for advice on specification
In-Service History
  • In Service within Europe since 2009 & New Zealand since 2017
Other Performance Attributes
  • 100% duty cycle — motor can function continuously without becoming hot, or needing to rest and cool down
